Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

The Well-Kept Day (“we,” “us,” “our”) publishes the website thewellkeptday.com (the “Site”). This policy explains what happens to information when you read the Site or write to us. Questions about it can be sent to hello@thewellkeptday.com.

2. Summary

• The Site has no accounts, comment sections, sign-up forms, newsletter or shopping cart. There is nowhere to type your name or email address.
• Nothing is sold on the Site.
• No advertising network, analytics service or tracking pixel runs on the Site, and it sets no cookies.
• What remains is the ordinary record-keeping of serving a web page (section 4) and any email you choose to send us (section 7).

3. What is collected

Information you give us

None through the Site itself, because there is no way to enter any. If you email us, we receive what you put in the message (see section 7).

Information collected automatically

Standard web server records, kept by the company that hosts the Site and described in section 4.

Sensitive information

No health, financial, biometric, precise location, religious or other sensitive information is collected, inferred or stored by the Site.

Nothing collected in connection with the Site is sold, rented, traded or shared for advertising.

4. Server logs

Like almost every website, the Site is delivered by a hosting company whose servers keep automatic records of requests. A typical record contains:

• the IP address the request came from;
• the date and time of the request;
• the page or file requested, and whether it was delivered;
• the browser and operating system the request identified itself as (the “user agent”);
• the page that linked to the Site, if your browser sent it.

These records exist to keep the Site online and secure: to diagnose errors, block abusive traffic and confirm that pages load. They are kept for a limited period under the hosting provider’s own schedule, are not combined with other information, and are not used to build a profile of you or for advertising.

5. Cookies

The Site sets no cookies: not first-party, not third-party, not for analytics and not for advertising. It does not use your browser’s local storage either. The light or dark appearance follows the setting your device already reports, and nothing is saved.

6. Third parties

Three kinds of service providers are involved in running the Site. None of them is an advertiser.

• The hosting provider stores the Site’s files, delivers them to your browser and keeps the server logs described in section 4.
• The domain registrar holds the registration of thewellkeptday.com. It has no access to visitor information.
• The email provider handles the hello@thewellkeptday.com mailbox.

The Site loads no fonts, scripts or other files from other companies’ servers. Articles may link to studies, official sources and other websites. Once you follow such a link, you are on a website governed by its own privacy policy, not this one.

7. If you write to us

If you email hello@thewellkeptday.com, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and the content of your message. It is used only to reply to you, or to correct an article if you pointed out a mistake.

• Your address is never added to a mailing list, because there is none.
• Your message is not passed to anyone else and is not used for marketing.
• If your note leads to a correction, the correction describes the error, not the person who reported it, unless you ask to be named.
• Messages are deleted once they no longer serve a purpose. Ask and we will delete yours sooner.

8. Social media

The Site may be linked from a Facebook page run by the same editor. What happens on a social network, including what it records when you click a link there, is governed by that network’s own terms and privacy policy.

The Site embeds no social media widgets, like or share buttons, or tracking pixels, so reading a page here does not report anything back to any social platform.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information is held about you, to obtain a copy, and to have it corrected or deleted. This includes residents of California under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA, residents of other US states with similar laws, and people in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom under the GDPR and UK GDPR.

In practice, the only personal information we hold is email you have sent us yourself. To make a request, write to hello@thewellkeptday.com. We answer within 30 days. Requests about the server logs in section 4 are passed to the hosting provider, which holds them.

We do not sell or share personal information, as those terms are defined under California law, and do not use it for targeted advertising. Browser signals such as Global Privacy Control are respected by default, because no tracking takes place.

10. Children

The Site is written for adults and is not directed to children under 13. It knowingly collects no information from children. A parent or guardian with a concern can write to us.

11. Changes to this policy

If the Site ever adds anything that collects information, such as a newsletter, comments, a contact form, analytics or advertising, this policy will be rewritten before that feature goes live, and the date at the top of this page will change. Significant changes will also be noted on the front page.
